We are seeking a visionary leader for the role of Dean of the School of Information Technology at our new San Jose campus.
We prioritize fostering a supportive and inclusive academic environment that empowers students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the school of IT.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain exceptional faculty members.
- Ensure academic programs meet industry standards and address student needs.
- Develop and implement cutting-edge IT and AI programs and curricula.
- Align programs with current and emerging industry trends.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations within the university and with external partners.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with industry leaders and organizations.
- Establish partnerships for research, internships, and job placement opportunities.
- Secure funding and grants to support research and programmatic initiatives.
- Foster a student-centered learning environment.
- Enhance student recruitment, retention, and overall success.
- Supervise academic advising, career services, and other student support functions.
- Represent the School of IT at national and international conferences and events.
- Publicize the school's achievements and programs widely.
- Work with marketing and admissions teams to attract top students and faculty.
Experience and Qualifications :
- 10+ years of experience in an academic setting, including teaching, research, and administration.
- Experience with school / university - MUST
- Degree in IT, AI, or a related field.
- Experience in a leadership role such as department chair, associate dean, or similar position preferred.
- Experience working in or collaborating with the IT and AI industry.
- Experience in AI and familiarity with industry trends. Proven track record of developing academic programs preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
