Transformed from a 1930s ultra-modern motor court, Hotel San Jos is a 40 room urban bungalow-style hotel situated behind stucco walls amidst lush garden courtyards located on South Congress Avenue.

Known as the quintessential Austin hotel experience, San Jos serves as a gathering place and community activity hub for locals and visitors alike with unique event programming (such the annual South x San Jose and Pet Parade) and nearby Jos Coffee Lamberts local coffee purveyor and coveted people-watching spot.

Bunkhouse has designed and developed a celebrated portfolio of hospitality projects including Hotel San Jos, Hotel Saint Cecilia, Austin Motel, Hotel Magdalena and Jos Coffee in Austin, Hotel Havana and Ocho in San Antonio, El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas, The Phoenix in San Francisco, California, and Hotel San Cristobal in Baja, Mexico.

We're looking for someone with :

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Three (3) years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred

Good communication skills

Positive Attitude

An eye for Detail

Responsibilities :

Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons

Mix ingredients to prepare and garnish cocktails and other beverages according to Bunkhouse standards

Serve snacks or food items to customers as requested or submit order to Kitchen

Help plan and organize the menu and operations of the Cocktail Lounge or Bar

Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure when necessary

Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons

Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
