This role involves inspecting a variety of projects to ensure compliance with permitted and Division of the State Architect (DSA) approved plans, resolving minor issues, and documenting inspections.
Responsibilities include continuous project inspection, materials testing coordination, and reporting non-compliant work.
The position requires understanding CALOSHA safety requirements, reviewing plans, attending safety meetings, managing bond-funded projects, and participating in pre-construction meetings.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and documentation skills, and the ability to coordinate with various departments and agencies.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications :
- 8 years’ experience in Construction Management of Commercial and / or Public Facilities, preferably including Educational Facility Construction.
- BS or BA in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a closely related field. 4 years additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above, may be substituted for the required education.
- DSA Class 1 Inspector Certification (Active).
- Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction / design processes.
- 1 year of experience in the supervision or inspection of engineering construction work.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction blueprints.
- Experience with using programs such Microsoft Office and web-based program management software.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and / or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
- Experience in a public higher education capital improvement program.
- Experience in alternative delivery methods.
- A valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
Salary : $140 / hour
