Security Team Coordinator - Full Time - 1st Shift - $21/hr

Overview

Melaleuca has an immediate opening for a Security Team Coordinator to lead the team and ensure that the Melaleuca space is a secure, safe and a non-violent environment for all Melaleuca associates and its properties.

The position is located in Kansas City, Missouri and is a Non-Smoking Campus

Shift :

1st Shift Monday-Friday 7 : 00am 3 : 30pm (OT as necessary)

Responsibilities

• Performs routine inspections of all areas ensuring the building is secure and employee safety is paramount.
• Oversees all Security Guards assigned to the Team, assigns extra responsibilities, manages time cards, recognition, and disciplinary action, if needed.
• associate traffic in and out of the associate entrance(s).
• Reviews the active and terminated associate listing to remain familiar with all associates names and departments, to assist in reporting call-offs to department leaders.
• Represents Melaleuca in a very professional and respectful way to all vendors, associates and members of management.
• Ensures that all personal property is handled in an appropriate manner (i.e., signed and accounted for).
• Ensures that all key distribution throughout the facility is done only with the appropriate personnel (i.e., department mentors, etc.).
• Reports any hazardous situations (i.e., loose carpet, icy sidewalks, spills, broken glass, etc.) to Maintenance personnel immediately.
• Receives deliveries from Federal Express, Airborne, UPS and other carriers and ensures all packages are delivered to the appropriate associate.
• Maintains all adequate information related to all Melaleuca policies and procedures (i.e., Evacuation Routes, Parking Procedure, etc.).
• Conducts consistent security inspections of the plant facility throughout shift and reports any questionable situations to the Leadership.
• Maintains a daily log of all activities during the shift.
• Review and update all procedures as outlined in the S.O.P. manual.
• Removes Ice / Snow from walkways and applies ice melt when needed
• Reports directly to the Director of HR and performs other duties as outlined.

Supervision of Others

Supervises staff by performing such duties as recommending employment status (i.e., hiring, terminating, promotions, issuing warnings, etc.

interviewing applicants, counseling, training, scheduling, resolving conflicts, coordinating with other departments, conducting associate meetings, recommending wage increases, etc.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Security experience preferred
• Supervisory or Shift Lead experience
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently.
• Professional appearance
• Verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• 30+ wpm typing.
• Standing, sitting or walking for duration of shift.
• Written communication skills.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Sit with intermittent walking.
• Communicate (hearing & speech) with individuals in person and by phone.
• Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
• Ability to handle conflicts with other officers and associates diplomatically and tactfully.
• Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
• Ability to work extra hours and OT as needed (i.e., fourth of July, Christmas parties, etc.).
