Logistics Coordinator

We are hiring for a local logistics company in Jacksonville who is looking to hire for a Logistics Project Coordinator for the Heavy Haul department.

In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the logistics of transporting oversized and heavy cargo.

Your role will include planning, scheduling, and executing transportation projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure efficient and safe delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Planning :

• Develop detailed project plans for the transportation of heavy and oversized loads.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand load specifications and requirements.

Scheduling and Coordination :

• Schedule transportation timelines and ensure adherence to project deadlines.
• Coordinate with drivers, transport teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations.

Regulatory Compliance :

• Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Obtain necessary permits and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Stakeholder Management :

• Act as a liaison between clients, transport teams, and other stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates to clients on project status and address any issues or concerns.

Logistics Management :

• Monitor and manage the logistics of transporting heavy equipment, including route planning and risk assessment.
• Ensure the proper handling and securing of heavy cargo during transit.

Documentation and Reporting :

• Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and related documentation.
• Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics coordination, preferably in heavy haul transportation.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and permit requirements.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
