PCU ONSCerts required : BLS, ACLS, NIHExperience required : 1 YearsSkills Required : Experience with mixed unit with Med / Surg & IMC patients.
Intermediate Care RN - Ability to read / interpret cardiac strips, wound care, line management, drain / tube management, drip titration of below medications.
Drip Titration : most commonly Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed (up to 5 mcg), occasionally esmolol drips (will train if traveler has not done these) or other Betablockers or other antihypertensives.
Floating : Will float where needed within (or below) their scope of practice. Most commonly to Medical (sister unit).RS
