GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES : Under general supervision, the janitorial crew is responsible for providing a clean and sanitary surrounding for the employees and public;
promotes sanitary conditions that prevent the spread of infection and odor. Must be able to work efficiently, self- motivated, and take direction well.
- EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED : Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection free condition through washing, cleaning, and replacement of equipment;
- responsible for the disposal of trash; Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures;
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them; Service, clean, and supply restrooms; Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Perform other related work as required.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS : Ability to repetitively lift heavy equipment of 50 lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members;
positive attitude when working others; knowledge of employment and safety procedures.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS : To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following : Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing / listening and repetitive motion.
Heavy Work : Lifting up to 50 lbs rarely, 20 lbs occasionally, and 10 lbs frequently.
Work Environment : Works in hot and / or cold temperatures and occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions.
