Project Manager

Role : ProjectManager

Location : MiddleRiver MD 21220 Hybrid

Duration : 12 monthscontract

Thework is currently part time in the office and part time virtual butmay soon revert completely to the office worksite.

This position will :

• Support the Data Analytics Team in planningorganizing leading and controlling the work of theoffice.
• Meet with Senior Management todetermine the office priorities.
• Delegateproject tasks.
• Track project performance andkeep projects on schedule.
• Maintain qualitycontrol of the project to meet expected standards.
• Communicate with Stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have the followingskill set as described in the contract :

• A bachelors degree in projectmanagement Business or Public Administration Computer ScienceCommunications or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle(SDLC).
• 5 years of experience as aproject manager business analyst change management analyst systemsanalyst or closely related experience in the analysis ofinformation technology organizations andsystems.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of planning developingimplementing and supporting computer information systems andprograms.

Preferably in a Business Intelligence or Data WarehouseTeam but not required.

• Ability tocommunicate effectively both written and verbal.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationships.
• Ability to coordinate the workof a team with the work of other units within BCPS.
• Ability to develop administrative reports includingstatus reports administrative reports project roadmaps projectplans etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Officesuite of tools including Word Excel PowerPoint Visio and MSProject.
• K 12 education experience preferredbut not required.

Responsibilities :

• Provides coordination and oversightof all DW projects major and minor to ensure adherence topriorities timelines scope and budget.
• Leads daily standup meetings with team tomonitor progress resolve roadblocks and evaluate workqueues.
• Collaborates andcommunicates with stakeholders on status timelines and requirementsincluding leading large group discussions.
• Creates / maintains policies and procedures.
• Member of the Data Governance Committee providing subjectmatter expertise.
• Creates and delivers bothinternal and external presentations representing the work of DataAnalytics.
• Provides technical leadership toensure standards are met solutions are scalable and implementationis smooth by mentoring designing solutions leading design reviewsessions and resolving roadblocks.
• Creates andmonitors team performance metrics.
• Floatsin / out of other roles as needed : Quality Assurance Analyst BusinessIntelligence Analyst and Data Warehouse Developer.
• Ability to build relationships with project sponsorsstakeholders other technical staff vendors and endusers.
• Coordinates and performs required unitsystem and performance testing. Works with other team members onUser Acceptance testing and issue resolution.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities byidentifying and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency ofexisting processes and develops strategies forimprovements.
• Produces status reports andcommunications on a regular basis for senior managementuse.

• Ability to coordinate thework of a team with the work of other units within the Departmentof Research Assessment and Accountability and other BCPS officesschools and departments.
• Ability toeffectively communicate with all levels of users team members andsenior manager.
