About The Position
Job Title : Medical TechnologistJob Specialty : Laboratory GeneralistJob Duration : 13 weeksShift : 12-hour night shifts, Friday, Saturday, and SundayGuaranteed Hours : 36 hours per weekExperience : Minimum 1 yearLicense : RequiredCertifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS)- Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) via AMT Verification- Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) via ASCP VerificationMust-Have : - Phlebotomy experience- Arterial blood collection experience- EKG proficiencyJob Description : - Serve as a generalist working in all lab departments, including hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, blood gas, and blood bank.
- Perform phlebotomy daily, including most blood draws.- Conduct arterial blood collections and perform EKGs.- Utilize Epic-Beaker as the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Work with Excellian (version of Epic) as the charting system.- Wear black scrubs as per the dress code.- Participate in department-specific orientation, which may vary based on experience and comfort with instruments.
- No call or standby requirements.- Follow a rotating holiday schedule with core staff.- Schedule will include working every other weekend, with the potential for less frequent weekend work when staffing increases.
Note : This position does not require a BSN.
