This is a Level III Commissioned Position (Duty Weapon Needed)

• Located in Houston, TX
• Starting $16 per hour
• Available evenings, overnight, and weekends
• Ideal candidate will have security experience and have worked on different types of security locations (office building, industrial, school, retail, etc.)
• Active Texas Driver's License strongly preferred

The Security Officer safeguards property by patrolling the premises and monitoring for theft, violence, safety issues, and / or disturbances through observation and reporting.

The primary responsibility of the position is to deter crime through an authoritative presence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides a visual security presence
• Conducts regular rounds of industrial, commercial or residential premises to deter and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates
• Performs checks on windows, doors, gates, stairwells, fire exits, mechanical rooms and other areas as assigned by client or that trespassers may use to gain illegal access, and insure that they are properly secure
• Inspects equipment if required to ascertain that tampering has not occurred and / or is in working order as noted in the post orders
• Writes reports, time-stamps the location and documents any problems found on-site by the use of dropdown lists, keyboard typing, photos and / or audio clips, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences including standing water or fire hazards, failure indicators on mechanical or electrical equipment, and temperature controls
• Responds to alarms and investigate disturbances
• Contacts police, paramedics or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Contacts Property Manager as appropriate
• Informs persons of rule infractions or violations such as loitering, smoking, carrying forbidden articles; apprehend or evict violators from premises
• Assists in evacuation of buildings in case of emergency
• Controls crowds as required by job site
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or required by contract with customer based on their individual security needs

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Be registered OR successfully complete minimum Level II Security training for Non-Commissioned Officer through a school licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau (PSB) in order to be registered as a private security guard
• Be registered OR successfully complete minimum Level III Security Commissioned Officer training through a school licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau in order to be registered for armed guard positions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property and institutions
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Knowledge of the content and structure of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar
• Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, agency rules, and company policies
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, managing files and records
• Teach or instruct others on the job
• Successfully pass criminal history background check

Some locations may require driving company vehicle.

Driving Requirements :

• 25+ years old with TX DL (Insurance purposes for driving company vehicles)
• Has held an active driver’s license for 3-5 years
