- Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)
- February 2024 cohort (2 / 24 / 2025)
- 40 hours / week throughout the program (5 x 8s)
Interested in starting a new career path in Surgical Services? We offer a comprehensive orientation path built around the AORN's Periop 101 course which is the premier, standardized education program for RNs entering the perioperative specialty.
It fully prepares nurses with consistent, current information, and clinical experience to reinforce what they've learned.
The program is developed to cover all topics from anesthesia to instruments to pre- and post-operative care requirements.
The course is continually updated to reflect the latest evidence-based Guidelines for Perioperative Practice. The dedicated OR educator provides an additional level of individualized support and preceptorship to support your success during this transition.
Department Summary :
Southern New Hampshire Medical Center has nine operating room suites, 25 pre-op / PACU bays, and a sterile processing department.
Hours are flexible, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour day shifts available. The OR has a dedicated call team Sunday through Thursday nights beginning at 7PM, making OR call minimal.
Services range from elective and non-elective procedures, including neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, bariatric, colorectal, vascular, ENT, general, breast, and plastics.
Surgical services are growing and evolving, utilizing the latest technology for the wide variety of procedures we perform.
Qualifications :
- Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Baccalaureate in nursing and / or Board certification strongly preferred
- Recent nursing experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
