OverviewFairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU - Medicine Department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.
As a Registered Nurse in our Medical ICU, we care for patients with many different diagnoses including : Covid, multi system organ failure, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, influenza, sepsis, renal failure, GI bleed, pre / post bone marrow transplant, pre organ transplant (kidney / liver / lung), overdoses, and respiratory / cardiac arrest.
Therapies we utilize include hypothermia, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), paralytics, and proning.Schedule : This position will be working 0.
6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift and will also work a rotation for every 3rd weekend.

- Responsibilities / Job DescriptionAs a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for : * Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;
- Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;* Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;
- Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;* Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
- Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;* Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
- Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and* Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications : * MN RN Licensure* Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)* Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care ProvidersPreferred Qualifications : * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
- Will consider a new grad with ICU experience as a (SNI or capstone)* Certification in related specialty is highly desired.
- A minimum of one year current medical surgical RN experience in a Hospital setting is preferred.* One year adult critical care experience is preferred.
- Certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or in a related specialty is highly preferred.
