Today, the Capital One Software team is exploring how these internal solutions across cloud, data, governance, and applications could serve the needs of other companies born or built in the cloud.

Capital One Software is a new enterprise B2B software business at Capital One focused on providing cloud and data management solutions for companies operating in the cloud and is Capital One’s first foray into the enterprise software market comes after years spent building our own in-house cloud and data management tools to enable us to operate at scale in the cloud.

As a Capital One Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

What You’ll Do :

Work with a team of developers to change the way the line of business builds customer-facing websites, building and launching a core micro frontend-based site

Build professional-grade front-end SDKs in JavaScript / TypeScript and supporting documentation so that product teams can build their own front-end modules that plug into the main site

Be an advocate for excellence : constantly raise the bar on user experience, technical sophistication, agile development, comprehensive testing, automation, and documentation in front-end development.

Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency, compliance with accessibility standards, and internationalization support.

Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting

Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

Utilize programming languages like JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML / CSS, TypeScript and Java, open source frameworks, RESTful web services, and work on cross-browser and cross-device development

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree

At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

Preferred Qualifications :

3+ years of experience with web UI frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue)

2+ years of experience with front-end testing frameworks (e.g. Cypress, Selenium)

2+ years experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

5+ years of experience in at least one of the following : JavaScript, React, Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, or Java

3+ years of experience in full-stack development

3+ years of experience with CI / CD tool sets

2+ years of experience in Agile practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Remote (Regardless of Location) : $140,000 - $159,800 for Senior Software Engineer
