About The Position
Job Title : Respiratory Therapist - RT-PEDS Job Specialty : Respiratory Medicine Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 7P-7A, 12-hour Night shifts Guaranteed Hours : 48 per week Experience : Minimum 2+ years License : Valid Respiratory Therapist license Certifications : Adult RT : BLS, ACLS (required)- NICU / PICU / Peds RT : BLS, NRP (required);
PALS (preferred) Must-Have : - Critical care experience including airway and ventilator management- Experience with ABG puncture and analysis- Non-invasive ventilation experience- Code blue and rapid response experience- Inhaled medication administration Job Description : Work with both pediatric and adult patients- Engage with a variety of treatment areas, including Adult ICUs, Cardiac Critical Care Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit- Encounter patient types such as COPD, CHF, Cystic Fibrosis, ARDS, MVA Trauma / Surgery, Pneumonia, Lung Cancer, Stroke, ALS, GBS, COVID-19, and RSV- Operate equipment including Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60, V30, and EV300- Participate in a protocol-driven RT team focused on critical care- Facilitate charting using the Cerner system- Floating required to other trained units only- Engage in a collaborative environment with support from lead / charge staff, manager, assistant manager, RT educator, and medical director- Complete orientation consisting of a general shift with the RT educator and an additional shift per each unit trained (generally 4-5 shifts)- Participate in a weekend rotation every other weekend- Voluntary call available, 2 hours before and after shift start time- Exhibit professionalism in scrub attire Additional Notes : Orientation includes 1 general orientation shift - Flexible in scrub color or pattern, maintaining a professional appearance- Scheduling may require working variable shifts- Holiday expectations are as assigned unless otherwise noted in the contract
