North Reading High School is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team starting in the 2024-2025 school year.

North Reading Public School Educators first contractual day is September 3, 2024. New educators are to attend the two day new staff orientation on dates still to be determined.
Essential duties
- Provide direct instruction, support, curriculum modifications, and accommodations for students with learning challenges in an inclusion / co-taught setting
- Serve as student liaison, complete special education evaluations, develop appropriate IEPs in conjunction with students' teams, and lead annual team meetings
- Provide consultation to general education staff
- Serve as a special education teacher in substantially separate / small group model classes for students with specific learning disabilities, Autism spectrum disorder, and / or other learning challenges
- Unit / lesson planning
- Direct instruction of students
- Assessment of student learning
- Be available to conference with parents and families as needed or requested
- Work closely with instructional and special education teams to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained
- Other duties as requested by the Building Principal or their designee
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, grades 5-12
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborative working demeanor
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
