Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Identifies, defines, analyzes, and generates complex specifications for test conduction, coordination of systems and analyses, proposal submittal, and performance of applied research and development in one or more of the following areas : RF systems requirements generationRF hardware developmentRF design and developmentRF systems integration and testing
• Develops, documents, and implements solutions to complex technical problems associated with the analysis, design, development, operation, and / or modification of RF engineering products and services
• Researches, analyzes, and conducts equipment (hardware / software) design and development, system analyses, process studies, and research investigations for complex technical problems in one or more of the following areas : Radio wave propagationDigital signal processingRF and / or digital hardware design and integrationThreat RF systems exploitationCommunications theoryWaveform development and modelingElectronic Warfare systems
• Establishes, develops, and maintains an effective working interface and coordination / exchange of technical information among multi-disciplined engineering groups, subcontractors, and / or the customer.

Researches, prepares, and delivers complex technical presentations to high-level management and / or the customer

• Designs and develops RF distribution components, antennas, and feedlines in accordance with specifications and engineering standards for installation
• Designs, develops, tests, and supports various digital signal processing and radio frequency applications, such as antenna design, RF path analysis, Software Defined Radio (SDR) applications, low noise amplifier, mixers, turner evaluations, receiver, transmitter, digital filtering, analog filtering, and analog and digital signal modifications
• Supports firmware and hardware development languages for embedded system design for microcontrollers, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA’s), System on a Chip (SoC), Platform on a Module (PoM), and single board computers (VME, VPX, PXI, etc.)
• Assists with the design and documentation of cable assemblies, to include cable lists; fabrication details; material specifications;
• wire pinouts; length; unique wire number identification; termination points; signal type(s); assembly weight; low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) status;

cable label details; and build, inspection, packing and shipping instructions

• Assists with the design and development of printed circuit boards (PCB) and circuit card assemblies (CCA) based on IPC industry standards
• Assists with the development of solutions for obsolete components or systems that are end of life (EOL) or otherwise require updates and upgrades
• Provides functional and technical guidance to less experienced engineers in all aspects of RF engineering projects. Organizes and leads assigned sections of major program reviews, design reviews, and proposals

Requirements

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s gegree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• Six+ (6+) years of experience working as an Electrical / Electronics Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements OR six+ (6+) years of experience working as a Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements
• Experience in one of more of the following : Threat System AnalysisModel development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation / tracking and signal processingRF signals processingRF algorithms / logicSystem performance assessments of major subsystems including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, RF signal processors and computer algorithms / logic
• Demonstrated experience programming and configured one of more of the following : MicrocontrollersField Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)System on a Chip (SoC)Platform on a Module (PoM)Single board computers such as VME, VPX, and PXI
• Experience designing and developing one of more of the following : RF Cable AssembliesPrinted Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
• Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS / SCI) security clearance
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS :

• Eight (8) years of experience working as an Electrical / Electronics Engineer or Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements
• Six (6) years experience supporting DoD or Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Programs
• Experience developing RF components in lab and shipboard environments
• Proficiency in the one or more of the following toolsets : Modeling Software : MATLAB, SimuLink, MathCADRadar Signal and Data Processing Toolsets
• Experience in one of more of the following : Threat System AnalysisModel development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation / tracking and signal processingRF signals processingRF algorithms / logicSystem performance assessments of major subsystems including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, RF signal processors and computer algorithms / logic
• Experience and knowledge of power systems, to include fuse panels, disconnect switches, ground fault indicators, transformers, power junction boxes, cables, connectors, connector plates, stuffing tubes, and feed-thru connectors
• Experience with root cause analysis of RF systems and interoperability
• Knowledge of sensor signal processing, signal detection, probability & statistics
• Experience integrating sensor, shooter, and command and control systems
• Knowledge of sensor array processing methods, antennas, and propagation
• Experience designing and developing power-based hardware solutions to solve and optimize different voltage and current requirements
• Thorough understanding of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for RF and Electrical applications

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL
