LHH is ramping up a search for a Production Supervisor in the Metro Detroit area. The Production Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our production department, ensuring that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently while meeting quality and safety standards.
This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage a diverse team of production workers.
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Monitor production processes and workflow to ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with the planning and logistics teams to ensure efficient use of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of production areas to identify opportunities for process improvements and corrective actions.
Resolve production-related issues in a timely manner, escalating complex issues to management as needed.
Train and mentor production staff on operational procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inventory records, and quality assurance documentation.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging suggestions for efficiency gains and cost savings from team members.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all production activities.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience (3+ years) in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment operation, and quality control methods.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to addressing operational challenges.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing software (, ERP / MRP systems).
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
