Math Teacher, Middle and Upper School
Full-Time, Faculty

A Roeper math teacher develops curriculum with awareness of state and national standards but with a particular focus on gifted, independent thinkers.
Passion for both mathematics and teaching is essential. Candidates must excel in mixed-age classrooms where students are treated with respect and all voices are considered and honored.
Role :
Teach multiple class sections of math tailored to gifted middle and upper school students. The primary focus areas will be middle school math and Algebra I;
the ideal candidate will also have the flexibility to teach high levels of math, up to and including Calculus and AP classes.
- Utilize a variety of instructional and assessment methods involving integrated use of technology.
- Collaborate with other math department faculty in development and documentation of curriculum.
- Assess students individually, including providing narrative reports that focus on holistic growth.
- Share student progress with parents through communication including conferences and progress reports.
- Maintain effective communication with teachers, colleagues and administration.
- Serve as advisor to a middle school homeroom
- Collaborate with Middle and Upper School faculty on school-wide initiatives and support the educational mission of the school through varied activities, including faculty meeting attendance, committee participation, events, and field trips.

- Implement the schools philosophy in classroom instruction and daily interactions with students and colleagues.

Preparation
Bachelors degree in Math Education, Education, or related field and three to five years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Masters degree is preferred.

Salary Consideration :
Salaries for the position are based on education and years of classroom teaching experience. Starting salaries with a Bachelors degree from 41K.
Starting salaries with a Masters degree from 45K.
