Assistant Professor of Professional Practice - Athletic Training
The Master of Science in Athletic Training Program in the Department of Kinesiology of Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences at TCU is searching for an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice position in Athletic Training (AT).
This is a nine-month position beginning August 2024.
Requirements : Applicants must a doctorate degree in AT, Kinesiology or related area and contemporary expertise in AT and be a certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC).
The successful candidate will be required to obtain Texas State Licensure for Athletic Trainers (LAT) through the Texas Department of Licensure and Registration (TDLR).
Experience in clinical practice, athletic training education, and program accreditation is essential.
Professional Duties : The successful candidate will teach courses in the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program and the Department of Kinesiology and assist the Clinical Education Coordinator with the clinical education portion of the program including student clinical progression and assignment to clinical experiences;
clinical site, preceptor and student evaluation; and oversee the professional development of preceptors. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining professional program accreditation by the Commission for Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), ongoing program evaluation, and student recruitment and retention.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach summer courses within the MSAT program. The successful candidate is expected to be involved in scholarship activities, contribute to the mission of the department in undergraduate and graduate education, and engage in departmental, college, and university service.
Salary : Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
