The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking multiple Senior Software Engineers in El Segundo, California, Huntington Beach, California, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, or Fairfax, Virginia.

The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system.

Our software products help solve Boeing's most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses.

Projects can range from new cyber security solutions for the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner to innovative aircraft, creating virtual avionics development test environments across several commercial, defense, satellite, and space platforms, satellite payload technologies, and autonomy.

Position Responsibilities :

Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.

Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.

Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.

Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.

Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.

Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree

7+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system

Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLAB

Experience using GitLab

Experience with Agile development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

Active Top Security / SCI with PolyClearance

9+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system

Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc).

Typical Education / Experience :

Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.

g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.

g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range : 130,900-177,100.
