Senior Data Governance and Quality Assurance Analyst (Technical) (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance and Quality Assurance Analyst who will play a key role in establishing, leading, and overseeing data governance and data quality initiatives across the organization.

This individual will enhance the integrity, security, and proper utilization of data while being technically hands-on, developing and executing SQL queries for reporting, data validation, and analysis.

The ideal candidate is a blend of strategic leader and technical expert who can work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to drive data governance policies, adherence to quality standards, and support the organization’s data-driven goals.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Governance Leadership :

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy, including policies, standards, and procedures.
• Establish and lead a data governance council or working group, working with business units to achieve alignment.
• Monitor compliance with data governance policies and facilitate data integrity across various systems.

Quality Assurance & Compliance :

• Implement quality assurance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Define and monitor data quality metrics, and take action to resolve data quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with data-related regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, or other relevant standards.

Technical & Hands-On SQL Development :

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of data issues.
• Collaborate with IT teams to design and maintain databases, tables, and data architecture to support data governance objectives.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

• Act as the key point of contact for business units and IT teams for data governance and quality issues.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for data management and quality assurance.
• Work with data engineers, analysts, and other IT staff to ensure data is clean, well-documented, and compliant with governance standards.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or quality assurance roles.
• Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write, analyze, and optimize queries for complex datasets.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and data quality management tools.
• Familiarity with data compliance regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with data warehousing or ETL processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is preferred but not required.
