The School

Francis Holland Preparatory School educates girls from 4-11 in an iconic building on Manresa Road, Chelsea, which offers a wealth of impressive facilities enabling the school to be two form entry with approximately 20 girls per class. Role and Responsibilities

The Role and responsibilities are carried out as part of a Year 5 teaching position (Maternity Cover). The following responsibilities describe the expectations for the role based on the information provided :

• To work as a Year 5 Teacher (Maternity Cover) within the school's Professional Learning Community, contributing to an expansive learning environment within a collegiate culture.
• To work as part of a small, dedicated team with a passion for education.
• To have experience in Key Stage Two; experience in Key Stage Three (English or Mathematics) is valuable.
• To contribute to preparing girls for their Senior Schools of choice at 11+ and to bring extensive experience in the Preparatory phase of education.
• To deliver an engaging and rigorous English curriculum and contribute to the continued success of the English Department.

Application

The position is fixed term for the Spring and Summer Terms of the academic year 2025-2026 and the Autumn Term of the academic year 2026-2027. Starting date is 5 January 2026 until 11 December 2026 (for three academic terms). Applications should be submitted through the link on the school website, using our application system MyNewTerm. The deadline for applications is 10 : 00am on Monday 13 October 2025, with first stage interviews online via Teams later that week. Final stage interviews will take place in person.
