The center's current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The RA II is a contributing member of various research, technical assistance, policy development, and programmatic teams, depending on scope of work.

The RA II will provide research and project support that contributes to a scientifically sound background for center activities.

This position will initially support evaluation work in the Center of Excellence for Children's Behavioral Health (COE), specifically with supporting a growing portfolio of statewide parent and youth peer support programs.

This is an Atlanta-based position.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Facilitating data for decision-making and sensemaking sessions with diverse stakeholders
  • Strengthening the capacity of program partners to utilize various types of data and information available to them for decision-making and evaluative purposes
  • Collecting, linking, analyzing, and translating multisourced quantitative and qualitative data
  • Designing and structuring databases that meet program information needs
  • Leveraging research and data to inform and support policy, programming, and practice
  • Identifying usable information within data sets to support the methodological design of research and evaluation activities
  • Collaborating with project teams during the design stage to inform measure identification, definition, and identify appropriate data sources in line with the program's evaluation design
  • Supporting data visualization, translation, and dissemination efforts, including but not limited to program evaluation reports, research papers, posters, oral presentations, and policy briefs
  • Assisting senior staff in identifying and responding to research and funding opportunities
  • Building relationships with clients and stakeholders, including state agencies, behavioral health providers, and school partners
  • Preparing literature reviews, research papers, posters and oral presentations, white papers, briefs, and client reports
  • Attend meetings and represent the Center of Excellence and GHPC at conferences and national meetings
  • Serve as a mentor to students and RA Is, and some administrative duties

  • Ability to work with data from a variety of sources, including programmatic data, publicly available data, survey data, administrative health care, and insurance data, and data collected from primary sources for evaluation
  • Ability to work, communicate, and translate findings in an applied team setting to lay professionals
  • Ability to transform untidy data to "clean" data for the purposes of research, evaluation, and regular reporting
  • Scientifically reproducible coding and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques, methodologies, processes, and procedures
  • Experience with at least one data processing / statistical package or programming language (SPSS, SAS, Stata)
  • Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and exhibit excellent customer service
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal communication with external and internal customers and presentation skills

The salary for this position will range from $58,099-$68,250. The position is sponsor-funded and is contingent upon funding

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Master's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications :

It is expected that the candidate will have knowledge and experience in health policy, qualitative and quantitative research, working with stakeholder groups, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint are required.

Knowledge of Human Subjects Research guidelines and Institutional Review Board processes, Qualtrics, WebEx, SAS, SPSS, and Stata is preferred.

Networking skills and aptitude for representing GHPC with local, state, and national organizations. Experience and passion in mental health research, programs, services, and policies.
