PRODUCT ENGINEER
SUMMARY
The HVAC Concept Development & Acquisitions team is part of the HVAC R&D organization. The Acquisitions team includes Product Engineers (Teamleads) who work closely with the Cost Estimators.
The Teamleads are responsible to develop new HVAC designs and cost estimates for all new business pursuits (Acquisition Projects) in North America.
The team also coordinates with and assists other technical centers world-wide for global business opportunities.
The Acquisition Teamlead is responsible for the design, build and testing of the HVAC concept modules. The Teamlead ensures the module design meets cost targets and meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, validate, & release engineering designs that meet customer specifications. Provide creative solutions for difficult-to-meet requirements.
- Document designs with 3D data and a Bill of Material in sufficient detail for cost estimating purposes
- Support development of cost estimates by collaborating with a team of Cost Estimators, Process Planners (Manufacturing Engineers), Purchasing, Logistics & Project Management team members.
- Compare costs to past projects or previous estimates of the same project
- Utilize cost comparisons to highlight savings opportunities or cost risks
- Conduct & champion design related cost reduction activities, coordinate meetings & activities, conduct verification testing, communicate with product groups, follow change procedures

- Background in HVAC Products and Processes is a strong plus
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (REQUIRED)
PREFERRED :
- Skilled experience with Unigraphics, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD systems; geometric tolerance (GD&T) & statistical analysis
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Advanced degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
