Program Lead
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position for a RAP Principal working throughout the agency.
CMAP is a mission-driven agency serving the 284 municipalities and 7 counties of northeastern Illinois as the region’s comprehensive planning organization.
The agency has undergone an exciting chapter of growth and is implementing a portfolio of work that relates to both the region’s comprehensive plan yet is focused through our internal Strategic Direction.
CMAP currently has an annual operating budget of over $43 million and approximately 125 total staff.
A Principal would bring experience and subject matter expertise to guide project teams as well as manage staff for their professional growth.
CMAP is currently seeking a candidate who has a strong knowledge and experienced in these areas of subject matter expertise.
- Housing & Land Use Planning
- Transportation Programming (ex : state & federal funding)
- Transportation Policy (ex : safety, freight, transit, ITS, and / or the application of planning or data analysis for these areas)
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate thorough knowledge of their subject matter expertise and external audiences & stakeholders.
The successful candidate for the Principal position will possess strong program / project, staff and consultant management experiences.

Salary Range : $99,950 - $127,437
Required Experience : Bachelor’s degree (in field or related field), 7 years professional experience, master’s degree preferred
