A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling discovery, depositions, pleadings, and document management, with a preference for courtroom experience.
Exceptional academic credentials and strong communication skills are essential.
Job Duties :
- Conduct legal research and analysis on commercial litigation cases.
- Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
- Manage discovery processes, including document review, production, and coordination.
- Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts.
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
- Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client matters.
- Maintain organized and detailed case files and documentation.
Requirements :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial litigation at a reputable law firm.
- Proven ability to independently handle complex legal matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
