Description
Set up and operate a steel slitting machine to produce slit ribbons from master coil material. Load and unload incoming master coil / slit ribbon material, stage, and un-package / package, material based on internal / external customer needs.
Use heavy material handling equipment.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Essential Functions :
Unload all incoming master coil material and stage accordingly to gauge.
Package and load all outgoing shipments.
Set up slitter head to slit material as required.
Complete daily production reports.
Complete Quality Control documents and perform required checks.
Perform cycle counts and take part in physical inventory processes.
Perform daily routine maintenance.
Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift.
Skills & Abilities :
Education and / or Experience : High School Diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills : Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues. Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Write simple correspondence, and effectively present information one-on-one to customers and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills : Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability : Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Comprehend job training and safety instructions.
Computer Skills : Some PC skills required.
Certificates & Licenses : Forklift Certified, Crane Certified
Other Skills and Abilities : Read a tape measure, micrometers, calipers, galvometers, and other measuring devices as required.
