HVAC Mechanic Full Time Days Position Summary
Maintains, repairs, and installs all refrigeration, cooling, and air conditioning systems and equipment of the hospital.
Considerable knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment, code restrictions, HVAC equipment and auxiliaries, ., pumps, valves, controls and computer systems.
Considerable knowledge of plumbing, painting, carpentry, maintenance and the tools and materials used in the preventive maintenance of the facility.
Ability to read blueprints required.
SPECIAL SKILLS : Knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment, code restrictions, HVAC equipment and auxiliaries, ., pumps, valves, controls and computer systems.

THE HVAC MECHANIC FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION : High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
PREFERRED EDUCATION : Trade school.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : Four years.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Recovery license for freon.
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING : Boiler Operator Training required or must obtain within 90 days.

Under general direction, inspects, installs, repairs, and replaces pipes, fittings, and equipment to maintain the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems of the hospital.
Installs new system components, filters, valves, thermostats, BAS components, etc. Assists Director in planning for expansion / renovation projects and forecasting operating budget and capital needs.
Performs other related tasks to the maintenance, service, repair, testing, inspection and installation of all HVAC systems and components, maintenance of inventory parts and supplies.
May provide assistance to other maintenance personnel in performing repair and service functions. At management’s discretion, performs other related duties consistent with minimum level of preparation and training required and department demands / needs.
Education :
Required : High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred : Graduate of trade or vocational school in related field
Experience :
Required : 3 years of experience working for a HVAC / air conditioning company or a mechanical contractor.
Certifications :
Required : Certified HVAC Technician.
