Part-time, Faculty - Sociology

Position Summary

The Sociology program at Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for a part-time instructor to teach a Sociology 110 - Intro to Marriage and Family at the Lompoc Federal Prison on Monday and Wednesday from 5 : 00 - 7 : 50 pm on Monday and Wednesday for the spring 2024 - 20254 semesters.

Future classes may be taught at the Santa Maria campus or the Lompoc Valley Center, and could be a day or evening classes.

Please note that this is not a remote position.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time / temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Assignments may include day, evening, or weekend classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in sociology

Bachelor's in sociology

Master's in anthropology, any ethnic studies, social

work or psychology

OR the equivalent

Lecture Rate : $65.74 to $86.44 per hour depending upon education and experience
