About WiscNet
WiscNet is a member-driven, nonprofit organization that connects and supports Wisconsin’s educational institutions, libraries, municipalities, and other community organizations. We provide innovative networking and security solutions while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across our community.
Position Summary
WiscNet is seeking a Security Consultant to help our members strengthen their security posture and navigate today’s digital challenges. This role blends technical expertise, problem-solving, and relationship-building. You will support schools, libraries, municipalities, and other community members across Wisconsin.
The Security Consultant acts as both a trusted advisor and a hands-on resource. You will guide members through deployments, incident response, and best practices while contributing to the Secure Platform Roadmap that helps our communities thrive.
Career Transition Opportunity
This position is especially well-suited for someone with 10+ years of helpdesk or technical support experience in a sensitive environment, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, healthcare, or government.
If you have experience supporting end-users, protecting health or benefits data, responding to incidents, and working within compliance-driven environments, this is your chance to grow. You will step into a consultant-level role with broader impact, apply your troubleshooting expertise to security and connectivity challenges, and expand into areas like incident response, cybersecurity strategy, and community security leadership.
We value your hands-on experience and people-first approach as much as your technical knowledge. WiscNet will also provide support and training as you transition into this next step.
