Job Description : We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in La Vergne, TN.
The successful candidate will work closely with students who have a range of learning disabilities, ensuring they receive the individualized support they need to succeed in an inclusive educational environment.
This role requires collaboration with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to create and implement effective learning plans.
Educational Requirements :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Tennessee teaching license in Special Education.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.
- Provide specialized instruction in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one sessions.
- Modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods to promote academic growth and achievement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student needs and eligibility for special education services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including IEPs, student performance data, and munication logs.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Certifications :
- Valid Tennessee teaching license in Special Education.
- Additional certifications or endorsements in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, or Learning Disabilities are preferred.
