Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week
Caseload : 10-15 Students, Kindergarten to 8th Grade (Primarily 4th to 8th Grade)
Job Description : We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team near Leland, NC. This full-time position involves working with a caseload of 10-15 students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade, with the majority of students in grades 4-8.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing individualized instruction and support to help students with special needs succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to integrate special education services into the general curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to teaching strategies.
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
Requirements :
- Valid K-12 Special Education Certification in North Carolina
- Experience working with students in grades K-8 preferred
- Strong understanding of special education laws and practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment
