The opportunity : As a Senior Underwriter on the Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for assessing and applying National Account QA audit program requirements to ensure effectiveness of Underwriting processes, policy and procedures with a focus on adherence to internal controls and underwriting guidelines. How you will contribute :
- Conduct audits and analyze results to ensure adherence to guidelines, policies and procedures
- Provide individualized feedback directly to underwriters and underwriting leaders
- Design and deliver targeted training to develop underwriting skills and reinforce best practices
- Review appeals and help resolve any issues in a fair, compliant manner
- Assist with program reporting advising leadership on quality assurance trends, strategy and individual and / or team development opportunities
- Champion innovative solutions to enhance quality assurance program / process and drive continuous underwriter development
What you will bring with you :
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and / or equivalent years of experience Underwriting
- 5+ years large case Life and Disability underwriting experience
- Passion for developing others to achieve excellence in underwriting through constructive feedback and coaching
- Strong analytical, communication and relationship building skills; able to juggle competing priorities with exceptional attention to detail
- Earn trust, influence and lead positive change by building strong working relationships across a diverse team
- Strong professional presence; able to effectively present to a wide range of audiences
- Expert in Life and Disability insurance underwriting methodologies
- Experience with QPS, Experience Rating Tools and JIRA
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office suite of products

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is :
- Southern region : $82,300 - $123,500 annually
- Central region : $86,800 - $130,200 annually
- Northern region : $92,700 - $139,100 annually
If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $78,000 - $117,900 annually. If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $92,700 - $139,100 annually.
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $86,800 - $130,200 annually. We consider various factors in determining actual pay including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
In addition to salary, this position is eligible for incentive awards based on individual and business performance as well as a broad range of competitive benefits.
