SUMMARY
Contributes to the sales function by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote sales of products and services by engaging with new and existing customers.
- Secure sales of steel coil and sheet by performing the commonly accepted behaviors and operations of a manufacturing and materials account manager / salesperson, including customer visits to secure business for the organization.
- Obtain lines of work, both contractual and spot business, while assuming the role of account manager, acting as the voice of the customer to the organization, and vice versa.
- Perform customer development and entertaining, sometimes outside of normal business hours, as part of building strong relationships.
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories and other sources.
- Call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders using a variety of methods (email, text, fax, phone, face-to-face).
- Quote prices and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Contribute sales orders for feasibility and price quotation, collaborating with the Production and Shipping teams to evaluate delivery priorities and drive production schedules.
- Estimate delivery dates for customers based on knowledge of the company's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
- Working knowledge of steel products and service center operations.
- Familiarity with customer needs and requirements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively and convincingly while maintaining familiarity and positive sales emotion.
