Job Title : Hotel Controller
Job Description :
The Hotel Controller will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of our multi-unit hotel portfolio and report directly to the CFO.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in multi-unit hotel accounting. This is a hands-on position.
Essential Job Functions :
- Lead all aspects of financial reporting and the monthly close process.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
- Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Perform daily routines and month end procedures.
- Review monthly hotel sales and occupancy tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
- Review and approve hotel vendor invoices.
- Review and approve bank account reconciliations.
- Analyze period-end financial statements data, including, but not limited to, food and beverage costs and inventories (gift shop where applicable) to provide information and recommendations to hotel management.
- Monitor the hotel Accounts Receivable function and performance at all hotels to ensure Aging is within the 90% outstanding in 90 days or less benchmark.
- Prepare necessary year-end workpapers for outside CPA firm for the preparation of complied financial reports and income tax returns.
- Responsible for preparation and overseeing workers comp and liability insurance premium audits for multiple companies.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-unit hotel accounting and enterprise-level accounting software.
- Experience with Inn-Flow / M3 accounting software is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
- Ability to prioritize and attention to detail.
- Must be able to multi-task and juggle multiple tasks at a time.
