Director of Center Store :
As the Director of Center Store, you will lead the sales and merchandising efforts across our grocery stores and affiliated markets.
Your expertise in natural and fine foods, market trends, and customer preferences will guide the development and execution of strategies that align with our company’s high standards.
Collaborating with the head of sales and merchandising, you will create a vision for the department and ensure your team delivers exceptional service, quality, and merchandising.
Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
Create and execute merchandising plans that align with customer needs and the company’s vision.
Ensure the product selection reflects customer preferences and trends and maintain updated sets.
Implement pricing strategies and promotions to drive sales and maintain market competitiveness.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a proper assortment, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.
Enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet company standards for freshness, appearance, and safety.
Manage inventory to ensure availability, minimize waste, and maximize product freshness.
Monitor sales data, market trends, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities and respond to market changes.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies regarding food safety, sanitation, and the sale of alcoholic beverages.
Work with other departments and store management to execute company programs and initiatives. Ensure alignment of departmental goals with the executive team.
Embody and promote the company’s mission, vision, values, guiding principles, and house rules.
Director of Center Store Background Profile :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of managerial or leadership experience in the natural / fine foods industry.
In-depth knowledge and passion for natural, specialty, and fine foods.
Strong leadership skills with a commitment to the company’s values and objectives.
Ability to achieve results through team collaboration.
Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Capability to synthesize complex data into actionable plans.
Strategic thinker with long-term planning abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Requires travel to store locations and neighboring islands for implementation, maintenance, and training. Mainland and international travel may be necessary for industry events and research.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to spend periods off-island to support company initiatives and store needs.
Primarily office-based but may involve work in store environments.
Ability to analyze data, interpret findings, and solve problems effectively.
Quick decision-making skills, sometimes with limited information.
Public speaking skills for presenting information to various audiences.
