Position Summary

As a Wastewater and Sanitary Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the contractor’s compliance through reviewing, interpreting, and enforcing plans and contract documents for efficient and timely inspection of the contractor’s work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the construction of water and wastewater system components, including treatment facilities, collection, distribution, or storage projects.
  • Collaborate with municipalities to deliver projects at different stages.
  • Support the development of contract documents.

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • General understanding of current federal, state, and local water and wastewater regulations, design guidelines, and permit requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with citizens, associates, land developers, and contractors.
  • Thorough knowledge of necessary safety practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of water and sewer line construction techniques and practices.
  • Knowledge of laws governing the installation of water and sewer lines.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal history background check.

Education and / or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the field of Engineering, Design, and Construction.
  • Experience with water and sewer line construction techniques.
  • Experience with local and State laws governing the installation of water and sewer lines.

Physical Demands

The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his / her hands to handle and feel for more than 2 / 3 of the day.

He / she can expect to stand or walk for more than 1 / 3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2 / 3 of the day.

The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 1 / 3 of the day.

This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.

The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He / she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors.

Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see from a distance are also necessary.
