About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Emergency Room (ER) RN Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift 3x12-Hour (18 : 45 - 07 : 15) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified;
facility may call off up to 36 hours without pay. Experience : Minimum 2 years of ER experience required; first-time travelers accepted.
License : Active State license required in-hand or in-process to apply. Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC required.
Must-Have : - General Emergency Department experience, combined Adult / Pediatric care.- Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response skills.
- IV Therapy / Phlebotomy skills.- Required medication administration skills including IV sedation and emergency medications.
- Neurological and orthopedic case management skills.- Pediatric case management skills.- Psychiatric case management skills.
- Respiratory case skills including chest tube management and intubation.- Professional skills in isolation precautions and triage.
- Cerner experience required. Job Description : Manage and care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; obtain and read 12-lead EKGs.- Administer blood products, perform phlebotomy, and start IVs.
- Administer continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and procedural sedation.- Handle cases of CVA, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury;
manage / apply splints.- Care for pediatric patients with a range of symptoms from respiratory infections to skin disorders.
- Manage acute psychiatric conditions including drug overdose and violent behavior.- Participate in intubation and chest tube insertion / management.
- Implement isolation precautions and triage patients effectively.- Work every other weekend; adhere to facility's holiday work requirements.
- Orientation consists of 16 hours; modules completed virtually on the first day.This facility is a Level I trauma center with a staffed bed capacity and has notable accolades for its care.
The role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of an ER environment. All relevant experience and certifications must be documented and valid.
Orientation and modules to be completed as per facility guidelines. Vaccine requirements include a flu vaccine, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons.
