American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with Level II Trauma Center experience and proficiency in neurological and cardiovascular care.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a PACU unit at a hospital serving Level II Trauma Center patientsVariable day shift start times available between 9 : 00 am and 12 : 30 pm4x10 hour schedule, with shifts from 9 : 00 am to 7 : 30 pmPatient ratio is 1 : 2Required to float within scope to all four hospital sites with a home base assignedNurse will rotate to phase II PACU outpatient discharge as neededOn-call required : 4-6 night calls per 6 weeks and every other weekend call with shifts on Saturday and Sunday (7a-7p or 7p-7a), and Monday-Friday calls from 11p-7aCall response requires living within 30 minutes of the facilityEvery other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period required, determined by unit needsUses SCM for documentation; EPIC experience is requiredResponsible for post-anesthesia assessment, monitoring, and discharge of surgical patientsParticipation in float pool may include working at Holmes Regional, Cape Canaveral, Palm Bay, or Viera campusesHoliday, floating, and hurricane response requirements are determined by hospital policyScrubs must be any solid color, matching tops and bottoms, with no logos or printsFlu vaccine required annually between 10 / 31 and 3 / 31, with medical or religious exemptions consideredTravelers must wait at least 1 year after leaving an internal contracted position before being eligible to returnFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this roleLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers\n \n Requirements\n
Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 1 year of recent PACU RN experience in a Level II Trauma Center requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSSProficient to expert skills in neurological and cardiovascular PACU care requiredAbility to titrate drips is essentialExperience with EMR systems including EPIC requiredMust provide 2 recent references from a supervisor, manager, charge nurse, or director from within the last yearMust be eligible for employment based on background policy and educational institution guidelines\n Benefits\n
