The anticipated salary range for this role is between $123,000.00 and $175,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire.

The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The VP, IT Resource Management Lead will report to the Director, AD IT Business Management, and will be responsible for aligning IT Workforce Management with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, monitoring IT performance, and generating insightful reports to support decision-making processes within the IT organization.

Role Objectives

  • Workforce Planning : Create a resource baseline and oversee workforce planning in accordance with established policies, frameworks, plans and forecasts.
  • Workforce Tracking : Create and maintain frameworks for effective tracking of workforce metrics and manage the aggregation of IT workforce data.
  • Capacity Planning : Forecast resource capacity required to address demand by analyzing current trends and calculating future needs to ensure optimal allocation
  • Skills Assessment : Establish a baseline for skill sets and capacity, providing critical insights on capabilities across IT
  • Reporting & Analysis : Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on resource utilization, capacity planning, and forecasted resource needs.
  • Relationship Management & Engagement : Partner effectively with IT PMO to assess resource needs, availability, and allocation strategies to effectively communicate project delivery expectations are realistic and delivered.

Act as a key participant in resource review processes to report on progress against resource strategies

  • Strategic Planning : Understand the roles within the workforce, IT requirements, and how current and future strategies influence and impact those roles
  • Alignment with ITIL Practices : Ensure that workforce management practices align with ITIL principles and best practices.

Collaborate with IT service management teams to integrate workforce management into overall IT service delivery processes

Qualifications and Skills

  • Required BA / BS in Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in resource management, workforce planning, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, data analysis and operational execution
  • Strong understanding of organizational dynamics and resource allocation
  • Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts, and work with business users, IT partners and vendors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate concepts and ideas to diverse audiences
  • Able to work well autonomously and be a complete self-starter and be comfortable with public speaking and developing relationships across all levels of the enterprise.
  • Licenses / Certifications (preferred but not required) ITIL 4, PMP
  • Language Skills : Business fluency in English
  • Software Systems : MS Office, MS Visio, ServiceNow SPM, Enterprise Resource Management tools; Agile Methodology / Framework
