The Safety Engineer is responsible for the safety of the employees at the jobsite and to ensure that all personnel assigned to the project are fully aware of applicable elements of the Safety Plan and have been properly trained to ensure compliance.
This position also requires the need to help preplan for the work with the project staff and Contractors by requesting and reviewing safety work plans and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) well ahead of the scheduled preparatory meetings before Contractors begin work.
A Safety Engineer is an entry-level role learning the foundations of Safety in General Contracting. A Safety Engineer will support and learn from both safety teams and field superintendent teams.
The Safety Engineer reports to the Director of Corporate Safety.
