About The Position
As the Director of Product Marketing at Stampli, you will lead, inspire, and mentor a team of Product Marketing Managers, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Your primary focus will be on driving the development of deep, comprehensive product expertise within the PMM team to effectively enable our sales and customer success teams.
80% of your team’s focus will be on resonant messaging, effective enablement and successful product launches.
As a player / coach, you will serve as a product knowledge expert, mastering the intricacies of our accounts payable and payments software, and translating technical features into compelling benefits.
You will own the end-to-end messaging and guide your team in developing and implementing all its components. Additionally, you will create and implement strategies to efficiently scale PMM efforts and processes to support company growth.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Mountain View, CA office, with 3 days per week in-office.
Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of 5 Product Marketing Managers (PMMs), fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
- Provide daily guidance, prioritization and unblocking support for your team while still delivering on your own IC responsibilities
- Oversee the creation of impactful product messaging and positioning that resonates with target audiences
- Drive the development of deep, comprehensive product expertise within the PMM team to effectively enable sales and customer success teams
- Serve as a product knowledge expert, mastering the intricacies of our accounts payable and payments software, and translating technical features into compelling benefits
- Create and implement strategies to efficiently scale PMM efforts and processes to support company growth
- Develop a keen understanding of target buyers (CFOs, controllers) and end users, including their accounting and finance workflows, challenges, and needs
- Partner with sales and customer success leadership to identify knowledge gaps and training needs, developing and delivering highly effective enablement programs
- Manage product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment, clear messaging, and effective sales and CS training
- Establish and track metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of PMM efforts, continually identifying areas for improvement
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to inform product marketing strategies
Requirements
- 10+ years of product marketing experience, with 5+ years managing and leading PMM teams, ideally in a high-growth SaaS environment
- Deep understanding of the fintech industry, and experience in accounting software, strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to master complex technical products and distill key features and benefits for various audiences
- Proven track record of developing and inspiring high-performing PMM teams through strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and professional development
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across sales, customer success, product, and marketing
- Strong empathy and emotional intelligence, with experience boosting team morale and creating a positive, supportive team culture
- Experience driving successful product launches and go-to-market strategies that achieve business objectives
- Proficiency in developing compelling product messaging, positioning, and content across various formats (presentations, one-sheets, website copy, etc.)
- Analytical mindset with experience setting and tracking metrics to measure PMM impact and ROI
You Will Get
- The base salary hiring range for this position is $170,000-$200,000 + Bonus. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
