Residential Counselor (24 Hours) - Worcester Respite

Description and Responsibilities

Open Sky's Respite Programs are short-term group living environments that provide treatment of intermittent crisis and stabilization for adults who are diagnosed with a mental health and / or substance use disorder.

The goal of the Respite program is to work collaboratively with individuals to develop skills to maintain their independence in the community and live a life that is not defined by their mental illness.

The Residential Counselor supports individuals to live as independently as possible, while providing evidence-based treatment and care, within a group living environment.

Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served and understand the importance of community integration.

Other Key Responsibilities :

• Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and play a lead role in the daily implementation plans.
• Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
• Assist individuals to access and / or provide transportation.
• Review and complete all required documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
