Location : Pasadena, CA
Work setup : Flexible working arrangement
Responsibilities :
Draft / review / respond to discovery documents and motions
Attend, take and defend depositions (both fact and expert witnesses)
Attend conferences with expert witnesses and summarize those meetings
Review and summarize various records, including medical records, HR records, and documents produced in discovery
Perform legal / medical research
Attend court hearings and argue motions as necessary
Assist in trial preparation including the drafting of trial documents, motions in limine, and other required tasks
Perform all tasks involved in a civil litigation case from inception to trial including discovery, law & motion, expert discovery, and trial preparation
Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications :
Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school
California Bar member in good standing
At least 3 years of attorney experience
Strong writing and communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently with team support
Skilled in managing and prioritizing complex cases
Effective team player
Required experience in civil litigation (plaintiff or defense)
Preferred interest in medical malpractice and civil defense litigation; prior experience in these areas is a plus
