WorldStrides is one of the largest specialist providers of educational travel in the world. The company is continually expanding and last year over 300,000 participants travelled with the organization.

We have specialized in performance experiences throughout our history and offer programs to all age brackets (middle and high school, college, and church community groups) and all types of choral, dance and instrumental ensembles.

We are currently expanding our efforts in this area, as we look to build our musical travel experiences across our domestic market to coach and work with team members to deliver high-touch experiences and high-quality programs to our customers and grow the revenue coming from our custom programs.

Objective : The Springfield Account Manager will support the team in providing successful trip experiences on all Springfield trips.

The primary responsibilities include supporting the team in the following efforts : Provide great customer service, provide successful tours, and produce a high level of retention with our customers.

In partnership with the Springfield team, the Account Manager will maintain a book of business providing and executing Springfield tours.

This includes building relationships with Program Leaders, working with other WorldStrides departments to provide the best customer service and tour product possible, and assisting in all aspects of account correspondence.

  • Work in partnership with the Program Leaders in setting up and planning their program
  • Individual organization
  • Remain organized to achieve deadlines and completion of activities for customers.
  • Work with Springfield CVB
  • Educate the customer on timetable and policies.
  • Assist the customer in completing authorization letter.
  • Send friendly reminders on key deadlines for submitting authorization / portal reopening.
  • Complete groups schedule in the CVB system.
  • Manage schedule changes.
  • Manage Springfield trips booked by Educational Travel Specialists
  • Educate the customer on timetable and policies.
  • Answer any questions and provide them with the registration letter and supplemental information.
  • Create trip itinerary and discuss any necessary changes.
  • Fulfill tour through the date of travel.
  • Upon successful completion of first trip, the customer will become your retention account.
  • Book / Manage Retention trips in your client book
  • Discuss with the customer (upon return from trip) their requests for the coming year's trip.
  • Ability to execute all steps within the sales process including price quotes, overcoming objections, and closing.
  • Trip Promotion- Parent Letters, parent meeting, and re-contracting when necessary.
  • Itinerary creation and management of itinerary
  • Assist client with any questions / needs through the trip process.
  • Manage Course Leader Packets for Springfield
  • Educate the customer on timetable and policies.
  • Create Course Leader Packet.
  • Provide packet to ASR for money requests, final proofing, and distribution.
  • Post trip follow up / customer survey responses
  • Follow up post trip including survey link in the correspondence.
  • Reach out to clients who only do survey and had trip issues / complaints.
  • Other regular tasks include managing manifests, participating in key promotional activities, handling / requesting PL stipends, and working with storefront for any shipping needs including flyers.
  • The Team approach - Be a strong team leader
  • Build your relationship with your other team players.
  • Clearly document activities and conversations in database notes.
  • Participate in regular team meetings.
  • Show initiative in your role with the team.
  • Keep other team members informed of progress and potential challenges
  • Give as many details as possible with clear and concise directions.
  • Assist the Springfield ASR and other Springfield Account Managers as needed

What You'll Need to Be Successful :

  • 3 years' experience working in a business environment handling multiple tasks.
  • Some college is preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Good verbal skills, with a clear and professional telephone demeanor.
  • Strong customer service focused individual with proven track record.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a business environment, with a willingness to expand time commitment when necessary.
  • Demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn new skills to enhance job effectiveness.
  • Typing and computer experience is needed.
  • Required to operate in a variety of public environments.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally (through the use of the telephone), ability to visually proof documents and input data into a computer.
