About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - Surgical Specialty Job Specialty : FS Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 12 Hours, 3x12 Hour Shifts Guaranteed Hours : 36 Hours Per Week Experience : 1 Year of Experience Required License : Current RN License Issued by the State Board of Nursing or a Multistate Compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications : Current Basic Life Support Certification Issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have : - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an Accredited Program Job Description : Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health issues from simple to complex.
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments;
note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.- Assist physicians during the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe their physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.- Deliver competent patient care and engage with family and patients to share the care plan while hospitalized and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff and perform other duties as assigned.- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Possess some computer skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education : Preferred : Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board-Approved Program.
