HR Manager Exciting Opportunity in the Retail Industry

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join a growing retail company based in Buena Park, CA . This position is ideal for a skilled HR professional with a strong background in handling employee relations, particularly within the retail sector.

The HR Manager will focus on managing employee relations in a fast-paced retail environment, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Employee Relations : Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries and conflicts within retail store locations. Manage conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Talent Acquisition and Recruitment : Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for retail staff, from job postings to onboarding.

Collaborate with store managers to determine staffing needs and ensure the right talent is hired.

  • Compliance with Labor Laws : Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations, particularly those relevant to retail employees, such as wage laws, workplace safety, and anti-discrimination standards.
  • Performance Management : Lead performance evaluation processes for retail employees, supporting store managers in delivering feedback and coaching staff to improve performance.

Manage annual reviews, promotions, and performance improvement plans (PIPs).

  • Compensation and Benefits Administration : Oversee the administration of employee benefits, ensuring that compensation packages remain competitive within the retail industry.
  • Workforce Planning and Retention : Analyze workforce trends, including turnover rates in retail locations, and develop strategies to improve employee retention.

Implement succession planning initiatives for retail management.

Training and Development : Identify training needs for retail employees and coordinate development programs to enhance skills and support career growth.

Implement leadership development programs for high-potential retail staff.

  • HR Systems and Reporting : Manage and optimize HR systems for accurate record-keeping and data analytics. Generate reports on key HR metrics, such as turnover and employee engagement within retail locations.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture Building : Implement initiatives to improve employee engagement, foster a positive culture in retail stores, and align with the company’s core values.

Organize employee recognition programs, events, and surveys.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Previous HR experience in the retail industry, particularly in managing employee relations at store level, is highly preferred .
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience with HRIS and other HR technology systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, managing multiple priorities.
