ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST
Job Description and Duties
Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position.
The State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Information Management and Analysis has an opening for two Environmental Scientists in the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program Unit.
Use your experience and knowledge of aquatic resources and science with your data science skills to transform data into meaningful information that can be used to support decisions for water quality and aquatic resource protection and restoration statewide.
Our supportive work environment promotes creativity in adapting solutions towards improving water quality conditions throughout the state.
The positions are primarily remote-based and the in office location is based out of Sacramento at 1001 I Street, 19th Floor, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Salary information CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, 599.673) of a classification.
For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education / experience.
