MRI Technologist
Position Summary : Performs routine and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a technical level that will produce high quality images consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Specializes in performing routine and complex MRI procedures.
- Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
- Operates and maintains all assigned MRI equipment to ensure it works properly.
- Positions patients and utilizes equipment in order to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
- Properly identifies, prepares and / or administers medications that are within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
Required :
- Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
- Advanced ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging within one year of hire.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred :
- Associate degree in radiology.
