Collins Aerospace is seeking a talented & motivated individual to join the Aircraft Architectures & Systems engineering team in defining and developing the framework, reference architectures, and standards for IMA Platforms and Systems.
This growing engineering team is part of the newly created Avionics Advanced Systems & Architectures (ASA) organization.
This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Relocation assistance may be available.
What YOU will do :
- You will contribute to defining the modeling framework, standards, and governance process for Avionics Reference Architectures.
- You will collect and assess market channel drivers and needs to identify unique requirements, commonality, and provide recommendations that maximize reuse.
- You will design, develop, and document architecture requirements in the form of reference architectures, reusable asset definitions, and MBSE modules.
- You will contribute to the creation of Governance Artifacts to manage usage and change to reference architecture requirements / models and guide the development of future reference architectures.
- You will guide Channel and Product Line teams in the change management associated with the application of reference architectures, deliberately and regularly collecting feedback for continuous process improvement.
- You will act as a thought partner with the OSA Program Chief and Systems Architects in creating and maintaining reuse strategies across ASA reference architectures.

Education & Experience YOU Must Have :
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws / regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications YOU must have :
- Experience as a Lead Systems Engineer, or similar role, as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
- Experience in design, development, and documentation of avionics requirements in accordance with DO-297 and TSO-C153A.
- Expertise using SysML (Cameo) and Product Line Engineering (PLE).
- Self-motivated with a high sense of responsibility.
